I wanted to say thank you to the lady from the shop who helped me yesterday when I was in an autistic meltdown (loss of emotional control due to being overwhelmed resulting in emotional and/or aggressive behaviour) aggravated by low sugar level.
I wear my sunflower band to denote that I might need help and support when in meltdown and overwhelm.
It hurt me however that the other gentleman from the shop snatched forcefully can of coke from my hand and when I tried to explain about autism and my band and , low sugar level he said he could wear 20 bands like this and it wouldn't mean anything to him and he didn't care.
Learning from this I'm going to have Autism passport with me with directions for a bystanders as this is a protected characteristic and severe disability.
People with severe Autism are extremely vulnerable and I write this for awareness.
Many autistic people commit or attempt to commit suicide because of such treatment and bullying and lack of understanding.
This is not a criticism but a plea to be kind and understanding. I understand that this shop and local people had not great experiences but painting every Hiker/tourist with one brush and jumping on them in the name of closing ranks of the local community is just unkind and may result in harm.
I understand the emotional aspect of tourism and its intrusion on the local community but people should be able to roam as in my case to heal following four years of abuse and bullying. This situation pushed me to the edge and I was crying the rest of the day and the next day I was anxious to leave bed and interact with people. I'm afraid that there will be others who will not help me when I will disclose my disability despite it being protected by law. I feel that all my 56 days of walking were in vain as all the past abuse came back as this heartless behaviour triggered past trauma I was trying to recover from.
I understand that not realising about autism my reaction to the gentleman in shop may have looked bad but I think instead of judging we should be just kind and ask whether someone is okay perhaps?
I was pleading this man to sell me can of coke as I needed to level my sugar up and prevent full meltdown yet he was heartless. The lady sold me the can and was very kind and for that I am grateful.
Let us just be kind, not jumping to conclusions as there are other conditions that may result in changed behaviours such as Diabetes and Epilepsy.
My message is please be kind.

Thank you so much Deepak and all the staff at Tintagel Premier. Your support throughout this pandemic has been amazing. My mother is high risk and you have provided us with home deliveries from the very beginning. You have and continue to work tirelessly for your community and you are all so happy and friendly. Your shop has a fabulous variety of stock and a wide range of vegetarian food too! Thank you so much for making our little village even better :)

We moved to Tintagel last year and have been so amazed at how brilliant our local Premier is! Honestly the friendliest, most welcoming little shop. We were very quickly welcomed into the local community and nothing is too much for the whole team.
AMAZING range of alcohols and gins, Deepak sources as many local products as he can to support our local community and to give visitors and tourists an opportunity to buy local produce at a very reasonable price.
It is horrible to read a review from a non-local who abuses the staff and shop when clearly they know nothing about the people and town!
We love our local store - you guys are brilliant!

This is probably the best local general store I have ever come across and I've lived in many different locations across the UK and abroad. It's incredibly well stocked for such a small store with a very wide range of products including many vegetarian and vegan items. The owners - Deepak and Deborah - are unfailingly friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. They've been absolute stars throughout the pandemic, keeping the shop running and well stocked as well as doing home deliveries after a long day at work. It breaks my heart when I hear about shop lifters and (a very few) abusive, self-entitled tourists undermining the fantastic work this couple and their team do for our local community.

Staff at this shop are always so friendly and helpful. As a vegetarian living in the village I'm always impressed at their ever increasing range of veggie products. I'm also gluten free and they even keep the gf bread in the freezer so it's there for the people that really need it.
Always a warm welcome!
I'm shielding so haven't been in for a few months, but the covid precautions they have taken means my husband feels comfortable going in despite our situation
Keep up the good work , I hope the tourists appreciate you as much as we do in the village!

The most amazing village shop, it’s like a tardis, so much bigger than it looks and so well stocked! Lots of fresh, local produce as well as more exotic stuff. Really don’t know what we would do without it. The owner and the staff are all so friendly and helpful, I look forward to doing my shopping.
Also, have felt safe during this pandemic, all staff are following strict social distancing guidelines and restricting the number of shoppers to keep everyone safe, and even arranged a local home delivery service during lockdown for people who were/are unable to get to the shop.

This is my families local village store. Deepak, Deborah and all their lovely staff go out of their way to make sure you are welcomed and help you with anything you need. If they haven’t got it, they will try their very best to get it for you. The shop is well stocked with a huge variety of products and has been an absolute godsend in these times of uncertainty. Deepak and Debbie are so kind and helpful, and it’s always a pleasure to have a chat and a laugh when you go to the store. Keep up the amazing service and I hope I get to see you all very soon ☺️

I like many others in the village are extremely happy and grateful for the services provided by this small village store. I was very concerned that the store might have to deal with customers who have little regard for anyone apart from themselves. It would appear my fears have been realised. A message to all obey the guidelines and this way the staff can do their jobs and we can all stay safe. Thank you Deborah and Deepak the majority of us appreciate you, the minority please shop elsewhere.

Staff has been great and friendly as always but particularly more helpful with Deepak over the recent problems, going out of their way to provide services and overcome shortages.
They have had to face more than their fair share of vitriol (as have the other stores) from some who lack a bit of decency or community spirit - but have carried on regardless and been a great asset to the whole community and not just the immediate village.

As a small a community we have been so blessed that our 4 essential shops have done their very best to keep all of us safe whilst providing an essential service.
Deepak and Deborah and All the staff have always a smile and a how are you? We have stood out in the rain and the sun and had a good old chat with whoever was there maintaining regulations that have been put in place for Everyone's safety.
