visited for Dinner this evening as told about this Restaurant. I had the Hake( in batter) chips, Minted peas.
Ate only a quarter of the fish as the batter was very over cooked and done, The Hake did not taste of anything ?, the chips served were hard ( I left them) The Tarter sauce was lovely but although even with Mustard as requested this did not make my meal any more enjoyable.
Yes i did inform the waiter who came to present the bill and yes i said i would happily pay the bill as they are a business.
I think really the establishment need to look at providing a meal of less opulence and concentrate on a menu more fitting to some good traditional good “Pub” food !
My opinion only people but not a great experience.
I will visit at some point but will leave an honest review.

Our lunch was delicious! Fish and chips and hake burger were so good! Fresh and perfectly cooked. Good size portions. Vegan burger was delicious too, very spicy! Service was good too. Definitely a place to try for a meal! 4 stars just because the beer was a bit too much on the warm side. Good variety of gin to choose from.

On a mizzly day we managed to get a table reservation for 9 of us for lunch. It was perfect - friendly quick service, delicious food in big portions (bloomer sandwiches and the lamb flatbread especially good) and good value. Thank you for saving us from a soggy picnic on a wet day!!

Great little place, room is very nice, a little noisy during opening times but obviously above a pub so expected , however pretty quiet after even though in main street, food is really good better then usual pub grub with the pork belly being spot on not too fatty and very tender a little crackling maybe? great value also, will be returning.

Dog friendly, lovely staff and delicious food! 4 of us ate in and were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was inside. The service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed reading about the ghost encounters in the building! Food was hot and just the right sized portions.

Dining at Ye Old Malthouse in Tintagel was an exceptional experience. The food was so remarkably good, it felt as if Merlin himself was in the kitchen (had to 😉). Having had the pleasure of dining at top-tier establishments like Noma, The Fat Duck, and The Man Behind The Curtain, I can recognize when great care and dedication are put into the food. This dedication is palpably evident at Ye Old Malthouse.
The service from all the staff was equally impressive. Warm, friendly, and inviting, they made us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout our meal. Their genuine hospitality added to the enchanting atmosphere of the restaurant.
Ye Old Malthouse is a standout destination in Tintagel. For those who appreciate well prepared food and a welcoming ambiance, this place is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

Didn't stay in a room we walked up for lunch from the Tintagle castle. This was the best food we had on our week stay in Cornwall. This place gets the best rating without doubt. The staff are friendly and very helpful. You can park in one of the car parks on the road.

Had a pint of Harbour IPA, the seafood combo and skin on fries. The IPA was ice cold. The seafood was absolutely stunning and plenty of it all homemade. The skin on fries were amazingly crispy and again, plenty of it. Would thoroughly recommend this place. It was a thoroughly wonderful experience. Beautiful restoration too. Well done to the chef and staff who were really polite and helpful.
Food & drinks: See above.

Fantastic lunch spot! We had a mix of vegans, pescatarians and meat eaters and all 3 groups were incredibly satisfied with their food! Lovely spot outside in the sun as well :) would definitely recommend! In particular the battered shrimp was incredible.

We had a wonderful bank holiday lunch. There were 11 of us and the service was great. Really lovely staff and the food was excellent. A really concise menu that didn't disappoint. Local ingredients and big portions.
I highly recommend and would love to go back!!
